Amy Smart is a former American model and actor. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modelling professional career in Italy. Her first acting role was in the 1996 TV film Her Costly Affair. Following a long and difficult battle to get a part, she was offered a role as 'Starship Troopers' in her role in Starship Troopers. It was a hard time for her to make the transition from modeling to acting since models were not thought of as actors and tended to be granted smaller, insignificant roles. Amy never gave up. Her first big part came from The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. Amy later stepped into lead roles in the romance film Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. Amy found her recognition after more than ten years of working. Amy continued to make important films, including the Crank series starring Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she portrayed a well loved recurring character.
