Lee Roy Selmon has a background that is a combination of family scholarships football with community service. He was the youngest son from Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon, who had him raised on the farm they owned in Eufala. Two soccer. He is one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. Three brothers were All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award as well as the Lombardi Award as the top lineman in America. For three seasons as the team's starter, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 and won two national championships. Third scholarship he was named a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon earned his diploma in education. Lee Roy's fourth time of service included ten hours per week in volunteer work during the college. After graduation, he landed in Tampa played nine years with the Buccaneers was an all-pro three times before beginning an entrepreneurial career. He was an Account Relation Officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked with these groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder in 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's 10 outstanding young males. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6-2. While he was in college, he was the captain of the 1975 team. In 1993, he joined the University of South Fla's athletic department as the assistant director. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 gave their Distinguished American Award to his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma was the person who presented the award.
